Native Plant Sale at Ruffner Mountain

Ruffner Mountain Nature Center
A wooden pier with a covered end reaching into Mobile Bay in Fairhope, Alabama

Fall is a good time to plant, and every Saturday in October Jefferson County Greenways sells native trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials at Ruffner Mountain’s main entrance and nature center. The plants are propagated from the county’s own greenspaces, so selection changes week to week depending on what is ready.

The sale runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Greenways members get early shopping from 8 to 10 a.m. on the first Saturday and 10 percent off every week. Boxes are limited, so bring your own containers or a crate for the car. Make a morning of it with a hike on Ruffner’s trails before or after you shop.
