Mini Makers is the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts’ program for its youngest visitors. Children ages 2 to 5 come with a caregiver to explore art through playful, hands-on projects tied to the museum’s collection. The current theme is Shapes All Around. Sessions last an hour and are free.

Dress little ones for mess. The museum sits in Blount Cultural Park, with free parking and a pond and walking paths outside, so it is easy to stay for a picnic. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, with free admission. For babies under 18 months, ask about the museum’s separate Art Crawl class.
