13 places This weekend in Decatur

Old Decatur grew up where riverboats, wagons and trains met, and Bank Street was rebuilt in brick after an 1877 fire. Today the strip holds antique and vintage shops, restaurants and bars in Italianate and Victorian buildings, with the Old State Bank, one of the few Decatur buildings to survive the Civil War, at the north end near the river. Residential streets nearby are lined with Victorian cottages and Craftsman bungalows, and Rhodes Ferry Park sits along the water for a walk after dinner.
