Living History Crew Drill at USS ALABAMA
A few Saturdays a year, World War II reenactors in period Navy uniforms take over the decks of the USS ALABAMA. They demonstrate daily shipboard life, give weapons briefings and share stories from the men who served aboard, which makes the ship far easier to picture in action, especially for kids.
Drills run 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 24 and December 5, 2026, and February 6, April 10 and June 5, 2027. Admission and parking are paid at the park, so check its site for current prices. Wear shoes with good grip for the ship’s ladders and narrow passages, and allow at least two hours to see the battleship, the submarine and the aircraft pavilion.
