Christmas on the Coosa

Christmas on the Coosa fills downtown Wetumpka for a full Saturday each December. The 2026 theme is “Lights, Camera, Christmas.” Live entertainment starts at 11 a.m., arts, crafts and food vendors run from noon to 7:30 p.m., and children’s activities and a car show fill the early afternoon. Character breakfasts are held at 8 and 10 a.m.

The Christmas parade rolls at 6 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by the town’s signature moment: Santa waterskiing down the Coosa River, then fireworks over the water. Arrive early for a spot along the river and bring chairs and layers for the evening. Wetumpka is about 20 minutes from downtown Montgomery.
