Now in its 53rd year, the Greek Festival at Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Cathedral is one of Birmingham’s longest-running food events. Parish volunteers cook the menu from scratch, and the weekend also brings live Greek music, traditional dance performances and tours of the cathedral.

The festival runs October 1 to 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with a drive-thru open until 6:30 p.m. for anyone picking up lunch or dinner. Admission is free. You can eat under the tents, at street tables or in the covered garage, and free parking is offered in the Liberty National garage on 20th Street South. Lunch hours draw the downtown work crowd, so go early or late if you want shorter lines.
