Alabama Frontier Days

Nov 4, 2026 (+3 more) Fort Toulouse-Fort Jackson Park $15 (students $10)

Every November, Fort Toulouse-Fort Jackson Park outside Wetumpka turns back the clock for Alabama Frontier Days, one of the state’s largest living history events. Reenactors in period dress demonstrate frontier crafts, cooking, trade and military life from the French colonial era through the early 1800s, set around the reconstructed forts where the Coosa and Tallapoosa rivers meet.

Weekdays draw school groups, so Saturday is usually the easiest day for families. Wear walking shoes, since the grounds are spread out and partly unpaved. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Wetumpka is about 20 minutes north of downtown Montgomery.
