Alabama Ballet: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker

Alabama Ballet is one of a small number of companies licensed to perform George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, and its December run at the BJCC Concert Hall is a holiday habit for many Birmingham families. The production runs about two hours, set to Tchaikovsky’s score.

Performances run December 12 to 22. Matinees are at 1:30 p.m. on December 12, 13 and 19 to 22, with 6 p.m. evening shows on December 12, 19 and 20. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and the BJCC box office. Matinees are the easier pick for young children. Allow time for BJCC parking, especially on weekends when other events are running.
