Lakeview, AL

Lakeview takes its name from a lake and amusement park that drew crowds here in the late 1800s. Today it is one of Birmingham’s go-to districts for a night out, with bars and live music clustered around 29th Street and 7th Avenue South and locally owned restaurants in converted warehouses. It is a short walk or ride from UAB and Five Points South, and the Pepper Place district on 2nd Avenue South, with its Saturday farmers market, sits on Lakeview’s northern edge.
