Five Points South, AL

Five Points South is one of Birmingham’s oldest commercial districts, a cluster of early 1900s storefronts where five streets meet on the Southside. The Storyteller fountain, a bronze sculpture by Frank Fleming, sits in the plaza in front of Highlands United Methodist Church and makes an easy meeting point. With UAB just down the hill, the district has long been a hub for nightlife, with pubs and locally owned restaurants ranging from casual to some of the city’s most celebrated dining rooms.
