Waterville USA
About
Waterville USA has anchored the amusement side of Gulf Shores since 1986, running a combined water park and amusement park on Gulf Shores Parkway just an eighth of a mile from the beach. Over the decades the independently operated park has grown from a single water slide operation into a 20-acre property packing 17 water slides, go-kart racing, mini golf, arcade games and a growing list of newer attractions added through what the park describes as more than ten million dollars in reinvestment over the years.
The water park side of Waterville USA is the main draw for most visitors, anchored by the Dune Racer, a six-lane mat racing slide where riders can compete side by side on the way down, and the FlowRider, a standing wave attraction that simulates surfing or boogie boarding without ever needing an ocean swell. A network of additional slides, a lazy river and a wave pool round out the water park, giving families with a mix of ages and comfort levels plenty of ways to spend a hot Gulf Shores afternoon.

Waterville USA charges a single admission price for the water park, currently set at $38.95 for standard adult admission with reduced rates for military, seniors and children under 42 inches tall, plus free entry for infants two and under. A ten percent sales tax applies to all prices, and the park adds a small surcharge on Saturdays, the busiest day of the week at most Gulf Coast attractions.

The amusement park operates on a different model, charging per attraction rather than a single gate price. Visitors can pay individually for the Nascart go-kart track, a round of mini golf, the Launch Pad trampoline area, kiddie rides in the Fun Depot section, time on the FlowRider, a game of arcade bowling, or a Topgolf Swing Suite bay for golf simulator games. An on-site escape room called the Escape House rounds out the lineup, bookable either as an individual ticket or a private room rental for a group.
Cabana Cove offers a shaded, more private option for families who want a home base at the water park rather than staking out a spot on open concrete, with rented cabanas providing a place to store bags, snacks and towels throughout the day. Food service is available on site as well, so a full day at the park does not require leaving the property to eat.

Hours shift seasonally, with the water park and amusement park both running longer daily hours during the peak summer months and a reduced schedule with more midweek closures in the off season. Because the calendar changes throughout the year, checking the current schedule before a visit is the most reliable way to confirm which attractions will be open on a given day, particularly outside the core June through August stretch.
Waterville USA’s location on Gulf Shores Parkway puts it within walking distance of the beach for anyone staying nearby, and its four-decade run as an independently operated park gives it a different feel than some of the newer attractions along the coast. For visitors looking for a full day of rides, slides and games without leaving Gulf Shores, it remains one of the more established options in the city.
The pay-per-attraction structure on the amusement park side means a family can tailor a visit to what their kids actually want to do rather than paying a blanket admission for a park’s worth of rides some of them may skip entirely. A group with a mix of thrill-seekers and younger children might spend more time at the go-karts and Fun Depot kiddie rides than the FlowRider, while a group of teenagers might gravitate toward the Topgolf Swing Suite or a private Escape House booking instead.
Because the park sits so close to the beach itself, many visitors treat it as a half-day add-on to a morning in the sand rather than a full standalone destination, cooling off in the wave pool or lazy river before heading back to a rental condo for the evening. That proximity, combined with the range of both wet and dry attractions on one property, has kept Waterville USA a fixture of Gulf Shores vacations for decades.
