About

The Beach Club Resort & Spa is a gated, 86-acre resort on the Fort Morgan peninsula, just west of the busier part of Gulf Shores. It is not a hotel in the usual sense. Guests stay in individually owned condos and cottages, but the resort runs like a full-service property, with restaurants, a spa, pools and activities all inside the gate.

The resort was laid out around a village concept, and the idea is that once you arrive you do not need to get back in the car. That suits families and groups who want a beach week with everything close by, and who would rather trade nightlife for quiet. The surrounding peninsula is far less developed than the main beach strip, and a national wildlife refuge sits nearby.

Rooms and Amenities

There are more than 230 condos and cottages. The condos sit in four Gulf-front towers and range from one to five bedrooms, with Gulf views from living rooms and balconies. The cottages sit on the lake side of the property and offer more of a house layout. Because units are owned privately and managed for rental, décor and setup vary from one to the next.

  • Beach: a long stretch of private beach in front of the towers.
  • Pools: five outdoor pools plus a heated indoor pool.
  • Spa: The Spa and Salon offers massages, facials, body treatments, hair, nails and waxing.
  • Fitness: a fitness center with sauna and steam rooms.
  • Courts: eight lighted tennis courts and two pickleball courts.
  • Family extras: an arcade, walking trails, beach chair rentals and an activities calendar.

Dining

Coast is the sit-down restaurant for coastal cooking. Gulfside Bar and Grill handles casual meals near the water, and The Hideaway serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Creamery covers ice cream and frozen drinks, and The Village Lawn brings in food trucks during the season. The Mercantile is the on-site shop for supplies. Dining runs on a seasonal schedule, so hours change through the year.

Location

The resort is off Fort Morgan Road on the peninsula west of Gulf Shores. The main Gulf Shores beach area, restaurants and attractions are a drive away, so plan on the car for outings off property. The Gulf Shores International Airport has nonstop service on Allegiant, and Pensacola International Airport is about an hour away. Mobile is also roughly an hour by car, and the resort is about an hour from Interstate 10 by way of the Foley Beach Express or Highway 59.

Good to Know Before You Book

Since every unit is privately owned, look closely at photos, bed configurations and the building or cottage location before you commit. Spectrum Resorts manages rentals at the resort, and booking directly with them comes with VIP wristbands that include perks such as priority reservations, complimentary kids activities and a dining discount.

The spa keeps a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, so book appointments early in your trip. If you are coming in the off-season, confirm which restaurants will be open during your dates. Ask your rental manager about parking, pets and any resort fees for your specific unit before you book, since those details are set at the rental level.
