About

The Bridges at Tartan Pines is a golf course on the edge of Enterprise, Alabama, built around a series of protected wetlands that give the course its name and its most distinctive visual feature. Bridges carry golfers over the wetland areas throughout the layout, a design credited to architects Alan Blalock and Glen Day.

The course sits at 423 Tartan Way, on the outskirts of the city, playing 6,787 yards from the championship tees and 5,475 yards from the senior tees. That yardage spread, combined with the wetlands running through the property, gives the layout more variety than the flat, open fairways found at many municipal courses, with water and native vegetation coming into play on a number of holes rather than serving purely as scenery. Carts on the course were replaced in 2022 with new models equipped with GPS screens that provide digital scoring, games, and yardage information as players move through a round, and a mobile app, available for iPhone and Android, lets golfers book tee times ahead of a visit.

The property has built out amenities that push it closer to a full recreation club than a stand-alone golf course. A driving range is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., accepting Apple Pay, credit, and debit cards, and a Toptracer Range gives golfers a technology-assisted practice option on top of the standard range. Fling Golf, a format that swaps traditional swinging for a scoop-and-throw stick, is also available, with rental sticks priced at $18 and a green fee of just $10 per round; reservations go through the golf shop at 334-393-8000.

Pickleball courts are open to the public for a non-member fee of $5 plus tax, with no membership required, though players are asked to check in at the golf shop before taking a court. The pool is reserved for members, part of a broader push toward warm-weather recreation that goes beyond the golf course itself. Together, the range, the Toptracer bays, Fling Golf, and pickleball give the club several reasons to show up outside of a standard tee time.

The Bridges Bar & Grill anchors the clubhouse with a schedule that varies by day. The restaurant serves Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a brunch service on Sundays; Tuesdays offer grab-and-go options only, and the restaurant is closed Mondays. The bar keeps slightly different hours, open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Mondays. The club publishes a bar and grill menu, a separate drink menu, and a brunch menu, each updated seasonally.

For Enterprise residents, The Bridges at Tartan Pines offers a recreation option that does not require leaving city limits, a detail that matters in a region where many golf courses are clustered around larger cities like Dothan or Montgomery. The course’s wetland setting, its bridge crossings, and the range of membership and pass options built around golf, pool, and pickleball give the property a broader identity than a course visited only for tee times. Anyone planning a visit can expect a layout shaped as much by its wetland surroundings as by its design, with the bridges that give the club its name serving as a near-constant reminder of the terrain the course was built around.
