About
Perdido Beach Resort is one of the established names in Orange Beach: a full-service, beachfront hotel on Perdido Beach Boulevard, sitting right on the Gulf with direct access to the sand. It is independently owned and operates as part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, so Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.
The resort has a lived-in, been-here-a-while feel, with a mix of longtime staff and a guest mix that runs from beach families to wedding parties and convention groups. It is a big property, but it is a straightforward one: Gulf views, a pool deck, a handful of places to eat and the beach a few steps away.
Rooms and Amenities
Rooms are spread across two towers, and the rooms have private balconies looking out toward the Gulf or the pool. Beyond standard rooms there are Executive, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and Presidential suites, plus Club Level rooms if you want a little more space and service.
- Beach: direct beach access, with a complimentary beach chair set for each guest room.
- Pool: a large outdoor pool and deck facing the water.
- Getting around: complimentary e-bikes for exploring Orange Beach.
- Fitness: a complimentary fitness center.
- Extras: a game room, watercraft rentals and a concierge desk.
- Events: more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, the largest convention setup on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
Dining
You can eat several days here without leaving the property. Voyagers is the dress-up dinner option, focused on Gulf seafood and steaks. Latitude 30 is the casual beachfront restaurant. Splash Bar and Grille handles poolside food, Perdido Beach Pizza Co. covers pizza nights, Coastal Coffee Co. is the morning stop and Ms Nancy’s Lobby Lounge is the place for a drink inside.
Location
The resort is on Perdido Beach Boulevard in Orange Beach, on the east side of the Alabama coast. That puts you closer to the Orange Beach side of things, with the beaches and restaurants of Gulf Shores a short drive west. The Gulf Shores airport (Jack Edwards National Airport) is about 12 miles away, and Pensacola is the nearest major commercial airport.
Orange Beach is known for its fishing charters, back bay boating and waterfront restaurants, and the resort makes an easy base for all of it. The free e-bikes are a good way to cover short trips along the beach road without dealing with parking.
Good to Know Before You Book
Check-in is at 4 p.m. and checkout is at 11 a.m. Self-parking is free, and valet is available for a daily charge. Pets are not allowed. Wi-Fi is complimentary for Marriott Bonvoy members, so it is worth signing up before you arrive if you are not already a member.
Because the resort hosts a lot of conventions and weddings, some weekends can be busy around the lobby and event spaces. If you want a quieter stay, ask the front desk what groups are in house when you book, and request a Gulf-facing room higher up for the best views off the balcony.
