About

Serving Florence, Alabama since 2019, Fire+Grace Photography has built its business around a specific promise: real, unposed moments rather than stiff, forced portraits. The studio is owned by Adrienne Hearn, who describes herself as “just your average busy momma, simply chasing the moments before they’re gone,” including the small bits of chaos that hold a family together, rather than manufacturing a picture-perfect scene.

The studio’s core services include family photography, maternity sessions, couples photography, and senior portrait sessions, which require an application before booking, all shot with a natural light, candid style that leans toward documentary-style storytelling over rigid, formal posing. That style has become something of a signature for the business, with a bold, colorful editing approach that sets the finished images apart from more traditional, muted portrait work. Hearn describes her aim as creating portraits that serve as memoirs of the ever-changing seasons of a family’s life, rather than a single static image frozen in a formal pose.

One detail that distinguishes Fire+Grace from many independent photography businesses is its styling support. Clients get access to guided styling with custom style boards ahead of their session, along with access to an exclusive client closet of wardrobe pieces, taking some of the pressure off families trying to figure out what to wear for a shoot. Prep guides are also provided ahead of each session, and payment plan options are available, making sessions more accessible for families budgeting around the cost of professional photography. Clients can pay through the studio’s Venmo account as one option among the accepted payment methods. Session packages break down into a few defined tiers: The Storyteller, built for family, maternity, and couples sessions, runs up to an hour and includes more than 20 edited digital images along with the style consultation, closet access, a digital album, and a print release, starting at $325. The Heirloom package covers a shorter 20-minute session with eight edited images and the same consultation and closet access, and a quarterly mini session called The Keepsake runs 15 minutes with five edited images tied to seasonal themes such as Easter, fall, and sunflower fields, priced between $195 and $250. Every session requires a $175 retainer to reserve a date, with the balance due the week of the shoot, and sessions are generally shot during golden hour, the hour before sunset, at locations within about 20 miles of Florence.

Beyond client sessions, Adrienne Hearn also offers photography mentorships for other photographers, along with an educational product she calls the Effortlessly Emotive Posing Guide, plus additional presets and brushes, extending the business’s reach into the broader photography community rather than keeping its expertise limited to client work alone. That mentorship side of the business reflects several years of building a consistent editing style and shooting approach that other photographers have taken an interest in learning.

Fire+Grace serves Florence and a wide surrounding radius, including Huntsville, Moulton, Decatur, Athens, and the Muscle Shoals area, giving clients across north Alabama access to the studio’s particular style even if they live outside Florence proper. Sessions are booked directly through the studio’s online booking system at book.usesession.com, with most communication and scheduling handled digitally rather than through a physical storefront, and updates and finished galleries are shared on Facebook at facebook.com/firegracephoto and Instagram at instagram.com/firegracephotography.

Client feedback consistently points to Hearn’s ability to put nervous subjects at ease, with one client, Tiffany Hutcheson, recalling that Hearn “made spending an hour in cold, windy weather fun for my two sweet kiddos,” and another, Sarah Finlen, noting that her two elementary-age daughters “fell in love with her immediately” and that Hearn “got the most natural smiles from them.” Another client, Maria Brito, described the experience as one that reflected who she was “as a woman but also as a Spiritual Guide,” while Lindsey Jefferies pointed to Hearn’s patience in answering repeated questions about outfit choices ahead of a family session.

For Florence families looking for a photographer who prioritizes authentic connection over rigid posing, Fire+Grace Photography offers a locally owned, single-photographer alternative to larger studio operations. Between the full styling support, the tiered session packages, the flexible payment options, and a shooting style built specifically around capturing real family dynamics, the studio has carved out a loyal following since opening in 2019.
