Mentone Cozy Cabins
About
Mentone Cozy Cabins is a small, family run rental business perched atop Lookout Mountain in Mentone, Alabama, operated directly by Jeff and Laura Nobles rather than a large property management firm. Jeff visited Mentone throughout his childhood, and years later he introduced Laura to the area, a trip that eventually turned into the couple buying cabins of their own so other visitors could experience the same stretch of mountain that shaped his summers growing up. That personal history sets the tone for how the business runs, small in scale and closely tied to the family behind it rather than a distant corporate office somewhere else entirely.
The Nobles currently operate three cabins under the Mentone Cozy Cabins name. Breathless is built around panoramic mountain views the owners describe as spanning a full 180 degrees into neighboring Georgia and Tennessee on a clear day, with three bedrooms including a loft with a queen bed, two and a half bathrooms, and space for up to six guests. The cabin leans into a Southern Living style of decorating, with a covered outdoor living area, a hot tub, a gas grill, Amish rocking chairs, and a wood fire stove with Adirondack seating built around it for evenings outside under the stars. Beulah is an authentic three story log cabin close to DeSoto Falls, set beside a small lake with its own spillway waterfall, giving it a more secluded, woodsy feel than Breathless. Forever is the newest addition to the portfolio, a four bedroom, four bathroom home built on one of the highest points of Lookout Mountain, designed for larger groups who want more separation between bedrooms and bathrooms during a shared stay together.
Every cabin in the lineup is outfitted with a well equipped kitchen, including quartz countertops and a coffee bar stocked with both a Keurig and a Ninja brewer, along with a fireplace and great room for gathering after a day spent hiking or exploring nearby waterfalls. The Nobles have also built health and safety measures into their turnover process, including mattress covers designed to guard against bed bugs and thorough sanitizing of linens, towels, and hard surfaces between every group of guests, a detail that matters more to some travelers than square footage or view alone.
Wildlife and scenery are part of the pitch here as much as the interiors. The valley views from the cabins take in wildflowers, small lakes, grazing animals, and regular sightings of eagles overhead, along with clear night skies once the sun goes down that draw stargazers out onto the decks late into the evening. The cabins are pet friendly and family friendly, and each one is set up for both cooking in and eating out, with the kitchens fully stocked and Mentone’s small downtown restaurant scene only a short drive away for guests who want a night off from cooking.
The three cabins together give the Nobles a manageable portfolio, small enough that the couple can personally handle turnover, maintenance, and guest questions rather than farming those tasks out to a rotating staff, which keeps the standard of care consistent from one booking to the next. Guests can reach the business directly through Laura at (251) 605-1582 or by email at laura@mentonecozycabins.com, with online booking and a send inquiry option also available through the website for guests who prefer to start with questions before committing to dates.
Because the Nobles personally own and manage all three properties rather than representing cabins on behalf of other owners, working with Mentone Cozy Cabins means dealing directly with the people responsible for the property, a distinction that separates this business from the larger vacation rental platforms that have become common around Mentone in recent years and that often list dozens of cabins with no single accountable owner behind any of them.
